About Amy
This is me and my story…
If you’ve ever felt like the world wasn’t built for you—or for your child—I want you to know: I see you. I’ve been there. And we’re going to do more than just “survive” this.
My Story (The Survival & The Strength)
My journey hasn’t been a straight line. From navigating bullying and trauma to managing the daily physical realities of Fibromyalgia, I’ve faced obstacles that were designed to keep me small. But those challenges became my training ground.
Today, I live life loudly. I am proudly Autistic and ADHD, and I use that neurodivergent lens to deeply connect with my son and people I have supported. Being a single parent isn’t just “doable”—it is rewarding, empowering, and the greatest adventure I’ve ever embarked on.
The Professional Toolkit
With a background as an Early Years Practitioner, I understand the “system of education” from the inside. I also have some degree of training as a SENCO, but more importantly, lived experience of navigating SEN paperwork such as Inclusion Forms and Portage as well as learning sensory strategies on the go.
I was also homeschooled myself as a teenager, which gave me a unique perspective on education long before I became an educator. Whether you are navigating the school system or opting for a home-based path, I’m here to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and real-life application.
Why I’m Here
I created Amy Jill Walker to be the resource I wish I’d had: a place where professional SEN advice meets the raw, honest reality of neurodivergent parenting.
Whether you’re here for homeschooling tips, SEN advocacy, or just to feel less alone in the single-parent trenches—welcome home.

Amy Jill Walker
A 20-something year old making a life for herself…
Hi! I’m Amy – an AuDHD single-parent and homeschooler, living life to the fullest.
Life Beyond the Labels
When I’m not advocating for SEN rights or homeschooling, you’ll find me leaning into the things that fuel my soul:
The Hoarder – I love to collect things such as Pokémon cards and my favourite…. Scented Candles!
The Arts: Immersing myself in music or the meditative flow of crystal art.
The Tech: Getting lost in a gaming session (yes, mums can be gamers too!).
The Magic: Running my sister business, Empowered Magic, where I blend spiritual practices with psychological self-help to help others reclaim their power.
Want to find me elsewhere?
As well as sharing my life, ramblings and thoughts on here, I am also a business owner. I founded Empowered Magic to help inspire, teach, coach and provide Positive Psychology based resources to empower people and encourage them to reclaim their inner power and live a more authentic and happy life.
I am also a tarot reader over at Mama’s Magic & Mojo. I have been reading tarot since I was 5 years old, and professionally since I was 18 years old. I love the insight tarot can bring to our lives!
I am also a student over at The Open University! I am currently studying at Level 3, otherwise known as Level 6, towards my Psychology and Counselling Degree. From here, I will be specialising in Positive Psychology and also want to delve deeper especially into Positive Psychology for Children.
My recent adventures…
